Turtle OKLAHOMA WILDCRAFTING

Osiyo and welcome. We are located in North Central Oklahoma, along the Cimmaron River.  I have led foraging classes and seminars in Oklahoma for the last 10 years.  I learned much of my foraging for wild foods, herbs and mushrooms from my Grandmother who was Cherokee.  I not only teach, but live my life this way.  Oklahoma is the number two state in the United States for plant diversity.  From the Trail of Tears to relocation in Oklahoma the Tsalagi have survived by their foraging knowledge.  When taken from their homeland they had to learn and adjust to a new land with unknown plants. Through the years I have added the knowledge of wildcrafting from the Dust Bowl and The Depression.  To Oklahomans the use of wild foods is an everyday practice to many, in our rural areas.

Terrain for our walks through fields and hardwoods require proper clothing and at times tick repellent.  All participants must sign waiver to walk.   Small children are not allowed on walks due to the area we walk in. .  All walks are free as I believe as my grandmother, we do not sell what is not ours. Below are this years classes, come walk the path to wild foods with us. Wado, Jackie
