Welcome
Oklahoma Wildcrafting is an art form used by
many in Oklahoma. From the numerous Native American tribes to
those who lived
through the Dust Bowl and Depression. For many in our state, this has been a way
of life. Why do I call it a art form? It is because it has been passed down
from generation to generation and perfection is achieved through the constant
practice of this way of life. From the use of broom weed for the flu to the
preserving of wild fruit to the wild medicinal herbs many in this state have
taken care of their families every day needs.
WARNING
News
I will be offering my e-book on wildcrafting
in Oklahoma this month. We will have a wild food walk on April 5th, 2008. For
those who would like to attend, information may be found on the link
below. Foraging for spring has began here in Oklahoma. This year more than in
years past we find rising food prices. This season will be spent with a renewed
zest canning and drying our forage. We hope all will respect Mother Earth and
forage with ethics. It is our responsibility to maintain the balance. Wado,
